Why write a blog? What have I to say that adds value to anyone? As a devoted consumer of the worlds of entertainment and Internet, like so many of us are, what can I possibly say that hasn’t already been said? Nothing. Thank you. Goodnight!
Kidding... One of the single biggest themes I have observed recurring in both my personal life and by numerous posts online (by prolific video bloggers like Jason Silva) is the perpetual search for inspiration. We seek the feeling of being fully alive. In a world with overwhelming problems and fueled by seemingly insatiable needs we are led to believe will be fulfilled by consumerism, or achieving success — where is the meaning in any of it?
My hope throughout the course of this blog is to share the moments throughout my life that have inspired me, and continue to inspire me — that they will inspire you. It’s why I am creating music right now, and it’s why I am writing this blog.
I’m calling this ‘vibrant life.’ #vibrantlife
What you cannot expect: You cannot expect 9 fabulous ways to be better organized. You cannot expect food photos or recipes, or trite drivel in a nice font pasted over a nature scene. Please don’t expect anything practical... or really even useful…
Instead, you can anticipate musings, stories, memories, and all of them related to art or humor or social ‘contracts’ we observe – or spirituality. Whatever strikes my fancy. You can expect artistry and depth. You can expect references to history, anthropology, old movies, literature, and anything from which I derive vibrance.
You can also expect an implied dare to up your own game.
The first personal bit of information I’ll share is that the #1 reason why I avoided (for YEARS) performing and sharing my voice is that, in order to do so, I am facing a deep fear of overcoming stage fright. Well, not so much overcoming, but moving through it. This quasi-Jungian blog will serve as my notice to The Universe that I’m through living inhibited. Every entry I write is with a hope that it makes you think and determine ways to bring your most true self into open expression, as I am. Every song I sing is with faith that the energy we share will quicken both of our lives and heal the wounds that undermine passion for life. Color my life with vibrance.
Now. I know that for some time.. I have been dropping hints and ticklers (make that French ticklers) about my music, and having something to share with you. It's ready!!
